Misc. Localization Utilities 

From time to time, I end up creating little utilities to help me with one localization/translation task or another. Some of them that I think may be useful to others, I will be putting up here for download. Feel free to modify, re-use, re-distribute, etc., as allowed by the license included with each file. 

If you have suggestions for other simple tools you think would be helpful to more people than just yourself, feel free to send in suggestions. I can't promise anything, but I will take a look.

XLIFF to HTML 

Turns an XLIFF into an HTML file that can be viewed with any browser.  Displays the source text, target text, approval status, translation status, and the translator/reviewer notes in an easy-to-read format. 

Translation status is represented by color-coding. Red shades mean the segment needs translation/localization, yellow shades mean "need review", and blue shades mean the segment is done, or very nearly so. Within each color group, the lighter the color gets, the less work remains in that task group.

XLIFF to TMX 

This style sheet extracts source and target pairs and outputs a TMX file which you can use to transfer your TM to the tool of your choice.  This is a very simple tool: any formatting tags in the XLIFF are dropped when converting to TMX (all text is preserved).
